Introduction

Fuel invites you to a workshop focused on elevating the practice of audiology. What changes will you make in order to thrive over the next five years? Are you still trying to move people into treatment for their hearing loss without understanding the psychology of the consumer? If so, then stop what you’re doing right now and sign up for Fuel‘s Audiology Workshop.

Led by seasoned audiologists, you will learn about changes impacting the industry and the tools available to support your practice through these challenges. We are devoting the entire day to trainings designed to help you evaluate what is working and what can be improved in your own department or practice. Engagement and questions are highly encouraged, and we are offering one-on-one follow-up sessions on Saturday with Rose DuLude, PhD, CCC-A, for a deep dive into any specific aspect of your practice you would like to discuss.

At our Audiology Workshop event you will learn how to:

  • Increase patient-adoption of treatment plans.
  • Overcome the issues posed by managed care programs, big-box retailers and price objections using the ‘Better Hearing Plan’ subscription program.
  • Identify your unique selling points and what truly differentiates you from your competition.
  • Take control of your career path and stay relevant.
  • Interpret the forces shaping the industry and view them as opportunities.

Behavioral Economics & Its Role in Treatment Plan Adoption
We are the first and last people who have the opportunity to help our patients with their communication needs. How we communicate our value is as important as why we communicate our value–it isn’t what we say, it’s how we say it. Utilizing the tenants of behavioral economics helps us speak to our patients in the most communicative and helpful way possible.
10:45AM
Professionalism & First Impression
From your first day in hearing healthcare to your last, professionalism puts you in the front of the pack. But professionalism is a complex and multifaceted quality. How do you show your best version of professionalism?

Sales Track - The Patient Journey: The Consult
Fuel’s Training Protocol provides a step-by-step guide for the clinician from the moment the patient walks into the office until they have said “yes” to better hearing and the follow-up services that must be provided for a successful fitting. It integrates concepts of behavioral economics and provides the classic sales philosophies that are well known in every other service. We empower the clinician to meet, test, educate and TREAT in the same appointment. Gone are the days when we educate the patient just enough to allow them to say: “I’ll think about it,” walk out our door and not return for six years.
12:45PM
Leadership Track - Director’s Roundtable
Join a workshop led by Dr. Karen Moore, Director of Audiology, to discuss the challenges and opportunities in audiology today and explore how your leadership can make all the difference in your department. Come and share your successes with other leaders in our profession.
